they say no bracing but when you have the goats neck hammered all the way to his butt that is bracing......i AM NOT knocking it....i wish they would let us brace.....just saying they have a rule but as long as you don't put a second hand on the goat while the judge is feeling of it or you you don't have the feet off the ground it is not bracing....don't understand |

do the work at home and get your goat to brace like the winners do and quit your whining. all it takes is a little work in the barn enough said. |

is bracing, rules say it is not allowed shouldnt matter what kind of bracing it is either allow it or dont and stand by the rules pulling the head way back and bracing on a chain is still bracing. The people over the show should stand up and make everyone follow the rules period. |

Are you going to go to every barn and tell each swine, calf and sheep exhibitor that they all have to show the exact same way? If that is the case why even have showmanship? Let them show.... |

does a cheater really win. if the rules say no bracing it should not be allowed does not matter how you do it you are still bracing. |

I think it's funny when you guys say, "us", because more then likely it is an adult makng the post & you don't show anyway, because you're not a kid. I have also noticed the smart a$$ comments & if you're gonna be like that put your name up there so we can know which smart a$$ you are.

Okay, guys (kids,parents, whoever) you tell me how are you going to walk around and tell one kid that he/she is putting pressure on their goat, so stop, you're showing wrong, that is bracing. Now the next kid beside him/her is just standing there holding their goat differently, their just holding it tight so that he won't get away (having a hard time with him). PLEASE, get over it. Let the kids be able to show their goats, two handed at that! This is a disgrace to all showmen, a one handed showman, here let some ol' man put a hand in front of your goat maybe he'll stop from jumping away. OMG! Oklahoma get a life and just let the kids show to the best of their knowledge, if nothing else just let them be able to control the animal in the ring.

It's a pointless topic of conversation.
It's as old as the petrified goat I have out back that even the coyotes won't eat.
Personally I just don't care anymore.

OK how about just taking the goats to the ring a turning them loose the judge could see them all plus the winners will not brace and the losers will have to cry about something other then bracing. maybe the paid off judge, the unfair weight break, I know My Goat was not the right Color, and the best of all they feed something that is band.
people get a life the Winners will always find a way to win. Losers cry about why they cant, decide the one you are and be happy, life is to short to cry about how your child's goat placed. Enjoy the time you have with them because in ten years they may not know were the goat placed but I bet that they will be able to tell you if they had fun or if you was there or not.

Okay, that crap about the "winners find a way to win & the losers cry" is OLD too.
New people don't whine and cry about losing. They take their loss and figure out how to win if they are competitive. And they do win.
What gets old is when someone spends the money, time, and effort then goes to a show and watches some dude pick animals and it doesn't make sense to them. We know it happens all the time. Not that the judge is crooked, which generally is the first accusation, but it is just one of a couple things. The judge is picking what he likes or maybe he/she just doesn't know what they are doing.
There is always the chance that he is picking his goats, his buddies goats, or his buddies kids or kids he just knows. OH WELL.....that is on the judge. We all have eyes. It makes the judge look bad and it's their reputation to destroy, let them do it.
Everyone is going to complain at one time or another, but dang stop with the same stupid statements.
That is my complaint. I wish someone had some kind of original thought rather than making the same silly statements about people "whinning"!!
I've watched poor sportsman in both the youth and the open shows. I generally just shake my head. That's the way it is, and the ones coming to the back biznitching aren't the new people on the block.
